Meredith Wilson

  • Registered Clinical Physiotherapist BHK & MPT
  • Certified in Acupuncture (CAFCI)
  • Manual and Manipulative Therapy Level 2
  • Incontinence and Pelvic Floor Re-Education
  • Functional Movement Screen Level 1 and 2
  • Clinical Pilates - pre and post natal and for the health practitioner
  • Member of Orthopedic and Sports divisions of the CPA

Meredith completed both her undergraduate and graduate degrees from UBC, earning her Masters of Physical Therapy in 2009. Committed to life-long learning and evidence based practice, Meredith continues to pursue post graduate education and has completed courses in Acupunture, Women's health, Pilates, Manual and Manipulative therapy and Functional Movement Training. She continues to volunteer her time and skills at various events throughout the lower mainland, including the World Police and Fire Games, Vancouver Lacrosse and 5 Peaks trail running series

Meredith brings a wealth of knowledge in biomechanics, exercise physiology and exercise prescription. She draws on her background as a kinesiologist, athletic trainer and personal trainer to incorporate functional rehabilitation programs as part of treatment. She strongly believes in preventative rehabilitation and aims to identify and correct the underlying cause of injury, such as biomechanical deficiencies, muscle imbalances and malalignment that may lead to future injuries. Meredith's holistic, hands on, client centered treatment approach combines manual therapy, exercise, acupuncture and education to treat and prevent injuries. She enjoys treating a wide variety of acute and chronic conditions.

Meredith grew up competing in numerous sports. Having learned to skate at the age of two, she played ringette and later hockey, and has competed at the Provincial level. Currently an avid endurance athlete, Meredith enjoys running, biking and triathlon.

I'm a personal trainer, swim coach, and world champion in ironman and half ironman (2013, women 65-69). I first met Meredith several years ago. From the very first session with her, I knew she would be a PT I would come to trust completely with any injury might befall me (and there were many!). But also, she has become my friend.

When you are being treated by her, you are the only person she is with; she doesn't go from one patient to another, then finally back to you some time later. She is completely hands on. As well as in depth knowledge, she has an insight into finding the underlying problem, which ensures complete recovery.

Another exceptional feature is that she is available via email if you have further questions. On New Year's Eve 2010, I had a major accident on my bike. My hips were very badly damaged and twisted. Through Meredith's care, I was finally able to recover and race. Since, I have gone back for treatments on a regular basis, as my body has tried to accommodate all the training that is required for high performance in my sport.

I have such faith in Meredith's skills that I have referred many clients and family to her care.

Cullen Goodyear, world champion triathlete

When I injured my shoulder in a bicycle accident, Meredith was my physio therapist. Her dedication, professionalism and skills as a physio therapist allowed me to recover in record time with full mobility and strength. I would highly recommend her to anyone who is serious about recovering from injury as her holistic approach to rehabilitation and recovery led to an excellent outcome.

Mike Cobban, health and fitness enthusiast

I have been fortunate to know several very good physiotherapists in my life but Meredith has topped the charts for me. I was referred to her by my trainer who could not say enough good things about her and now I can't stop talking of her to my friends about how amazing she has been in helping me tackle some long nagging issues. I had been resigned that I would just have to live with the way certain things were.

I like to run for exercise but my lower back and hips were a constant cause of pain and tingling in my feet. It would also affect my gait which would result in soreness in my legs because I was out of synch over longer distances. As an endurance athlete, Meredith knows the drive people have to be active and had a very confident approach with me. The first time I met with her and she assessed me, she declared “we can fix this”. I felt, really? I had given up after much trying… but she has been right. Through a combination of physical treatments (don't let her size confuse her strength!), acupuncture and a series of progress exercises, I have seen amazing improvements and now have a program I have for life that will help my core stay strong, stable and flexible.

I have no reservations recommending Meredith to anyone who yearns to be active and wants to enjoy their body the way it use to be! Thanks Meredith!

Dave Smith, runner

I highly recommend Meredith Wilson as a physiotherapist. Over a period of a couple of years I have received treatment for both hip and shoulder injuries, both of which can be difficult cases. I have found Meredith to be thorough and diverse in her treatment options. She listens to you as a patient, and her own experience in different athletic activities, brings valuable personal insight/experience to your treatment. One very important concept for me is that Meredith tracks improvement (in some cases literally measuring) to treatment – measured results gets you out of the physio office and back doing the things you love.

Deanna McMullen

  • Registered Clinical Physiotherapist BScPT (Hons)
  • Certified in Acupuncture (CAFCI)
  • Certified Pilates instructor
  • Certified 'Fit for Golf'
  • Certified Bike Fitter

Deanna has 20 years of clinical experience in orthopaedics and sports medicine as well as extensive training in manual therapy, and exercise prescription. Her vast knowledge through continuing education and experience, provide her with a well-rounded approach to patient care.

Deanna graduated from Dalhousie University with honors, being awarded with the highest standing in orthopaedics. She was a varsity basketball player and 3-time Academic All-Canadian.

Deanna is now an elite-level triathlete and cyclist. Representing Bermuda, she was a multiple medalist in international competition and a two time UCI Caribbean Region Time Trial Champion. In her first Canada Ironman event she qualifed for the world championships in Hawaii. Deanna enjoys getting people set up properly on their bike to alleviate injury and optimize performance. She achieves this through her personal experience and passion for cycling along with professional certifcation as a bike fitter.

Deanna enjoys sharing her knowledge and experience with her patients to quickly return them to training and competition while addressing injury prevention. She is well versed in exercise prescription for the elderly and is an avid proponent of healthy living at all ages. Deanna looks forward to continuing to serve the North Shore community.

When she's not healing bodies at Aveeva, she enjoys time with the newest love of her life, her son Tyler, along with exploring the beautiful North Shore by foot or pedal.

I found Deanna when I was dealing with a leg injury that was impeding my training. I was looking for a physio who not only understood the problem and how to treat it but who had a broader perspective and variety of skills that would inform that treatment. Deanna has that in abundance. She is an accomplished athlete, is constantly improving her skill set and qualifications, and has a broad range of experience in her profession. As a result she has an holistic approach that gives you the confidence to know she is on the right track with your treatment.

I was also very happy with how the sessions go. When you book for 30 minutes you get Deanna for 30 minutes. You are not one of many patients in that timeslot that the physio is rotating through, leaving you hooked to a machine. Deanna spends that time getting to know you and the issues you are dealing with, your goals for recovery and how to better help you get there. More evidence of the care and attention to your recovery that you get with Deanna.

I'm a big believer in sharing a good thing. When I found Deanna, I knew I had something to share! I have recommended her to at least 8 or 9 friends and all have come back to me to thank me for the referral.

Paul Rogers, cyclist and triathlete

I would recommend Dee's physio services to anyone. An excellent clinician who understands the challenges experienced by many including athletes, as she is quite the athlete herself.

Gail Harrison, amateur triathlete

I highly recommend Aveeva! I saw Dee for a leg injury and my experience was extraordinary. I have been to many physiotherapy clinics over the years and I have never seen a physiotherapist as knowledgeable, thorough and caring as Dee. She was very positive and totally dedicated to my recovery. She had me back running in no time at all. In addition I must say that I was particularly impressed with how she took the time to explain to me what had happened and how to avoid a similar injury in the future. I was extremely impressed with my experience... Thank you so much!!!

Darrin Richards, elite level runner

Despite being active and leading a healthy lifestyle, once I turned 35, I started to notice that injuries took longer to heal and started to really affect my performance. As a triathlete, I had heard about Deanna's physical therapy skills and decided to see if she could put my injured body back together. Now 10 years later, I am fitter and faster than I have ever been.

Deanna not only fixed my injuries but taught me how to avoid them in the future and listen to my body. 2 Ironman's and 4 marathon's later, I'm looking forward to the prime of my life, thanks to Deanna.

Ellen Charnley, age group triathlete
